Mobile Trailer & Caravan Roadworthy Inspections
Box trailers, horse floats, campers and caravans are inspected where they're stored, so you don't need to tow them across town.

What's checked on a trailer?
Trailer and caravan inspections focus on the coupling and safety chains, brakes (where fitted), lights and reflectors, wheels, tyres and bearings, suspension, and the body and chassis.
Whether your trailer needs a safety certificate depends on its aggregate trailer mass (ATM). Check the Queensland Government requirements or ask us before booking.

Prepare your trailer or caravan
We inspect the applicable components against TMR guidelines. A few checks beforehand can help you identify obvious issues.
Coupling & safety chains
Look for visible damage, missing parts or insecure attachments. Make the coupling and identification plate accessible for the inspector.
Lights & electrical connection
Check indicators, brake lights, tail lights, number plate lights and reflectors. Let us know if a suitable towing vehicle will be available to operate the lights and brakes.
Tyres, wheels & brakes
Look for tyre deterioration, tread wear or damage. Tell us about braking concerns, unusual bearing noise or suspension issues; avoid getting under an unsupported trailer.
Access & vehicle details
Park on firm, level ground with room around the trailer. Have registration details and ATM information ready, and mention modifications or gas installations when booking.
Safety certificate requirements generally cover trailers and caravans with ATM between 750 kg and 4,500 kg. Confirm requirements for your particular vehicle and transaction with TMR. A roadworthy inspection does not replace any separately required gas certification, and these pre-checks do not guarantee a pass.
